Devlog 3 - Expert feedback
Use the following questions as a reference for your documentation. Feel free to edit the format.
From the expert council:
- How was the engagement with the EU values perceived by the expert council?
- The expert(s) pointed out that it is important to carefully consider which target audience we are aiming for and why. After all, it’s not just young adults who are affected by fake news spread by influencers. Children and older individuals who are less familiar with misinformation on social media can also be highly impacted.
- How playable was the prototype according to the experts?
- What was their feedback regarding the instructions?
- The instructions were somewhat clear, but we must consider that it's often more effective to explain things verbally rather than simply handing users a manual and expecting them to read through it.
- What was their feedback regarding the mechanics?
- Mechanically, everything was clear, but we could make adjustments by allowing players to take on different types of influencers, each with their own advantages and disadvantages that impact their choices. Additionally, we could consider changing the starting point of the players to create a more difficult experience.
- We also received a mechanical tip suggesting that we consider adding "penalty cards" to speed up the game and create more competition between the players.
- We also received a tip on ensuring fair use of the joker cards. One suggestion was that players who are not using a joker should first place an action card before the source is revealed. This would add an extra layer of strategy and fairness to the game.
- It might also be a good idea to show where the content was shared and which influencers were responsible for spreading it.
- What was their feedback regarding the instructions?
From your own observations and the feedback from the experts, what are the most significant takeaways from today and why?
From this feedback session with the expert(s), we received valuable tips to make the game more playable and expand its underlying meaning. We also gained useful insights on how the game can be played in a way that makes it more enjoyable for the players.
- Share any pictures from your game design process.
What are your action points for the upcoming day?
For the next two days, we want to focus on making the game fully playable. This includes creating better cards, providing clear sources for the playing cards, and reviewing the rules to ensure everything is clear and balanced.
